Predicting the Future with Sugar Packets using Magic
I'm Joe Marshall with expertvillage.com and today we are going to learn how to predict the future. This you can do at a restaurant with sugar packets. We are actually just going to be using these square pieces of paper for the example, but normally we just want to do this with sugar packets. You tell somebody that you are going to try to predict a number from 1-10 that they will actually select and you do not want to see it so you are going to ahead and write it down but make sure they do not see it and you are going to set that aside for now. Then you are going to get out your sugar packets in this case again it is squared pieces of paper and you are going to number them 1-10 and after you have done that you set it aside. You are going to pile them up. Hand these to your participant and tell them to shuffle it in his hands and drop them on the table and you say the one that lands face down are going to be eliminated so you just pick the one that are still face up. Have him shuffle them again and as drops, now we got one at a time. You keep doing this until only one remains face up. So it is completely random choice here. You are down to two. So we are left with one here and that happens to be the #7. So you can get rid of this and you just tell him that it was completely random as you could see and you wrote a prediction down ahead of time you just want them to go ahead and pick it up and when they turn it over you can see the prediction was correct.

You are going to need just to prepare one thing before you do this. All your sugar packets are just unprepared except for one and on one you are going to write the number 7 and you are also going to write the number 7 on the other side as well and that is basically the secret. All the other ones just have the number written on only one side so no matter how this lands, it is always going to be landing face up amongst the sugar packets so when they shake them all up from down these will all eventually be face down and always be left with just the number 7. And of course you knew it because you wrote it down and you have face down entire time. It is really strong effect, people really like it. I would only do it once obviously, because you are just going to keep coming up with the number 7 and have fun with it.
