The Spell Magic Trick Magic Card Trick
Hi everybody! Malik the Magic Guy with expertvillage.com. Now I'm going to show you one of my favorite childhood card tricks. I did this trick probably a million times ... maybe a little less. What we want to do is take our cards out of the box, and I'm going to need 13 cards for this 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13. Now, what a lot of people don't know about playing cards is that they know how to spell. For instance, if I move the cards one at a time, A C E, just like this I wind up with an ace. It works with other numbers too. If we do T W O we get a 2, T H R E E winds up with a 3, F O U R is going to give us a 4, F I V E gives us a 5; we can keep going with 6 it is the X for 6, S E V E N gives us the 7, E I G H T gives us the 8, N I N E for the 9, T E N for the 10, J A C K jack, Q U E E N gives us the queen, and the one card left the king just like that. And that's how you spell to all the cards, and I'm going to show you how to do that in just a second.

Explanation of the Spell Magic Card Trick
Hi! I'm Malik the Magic Guy with expertvillage.com. Now let me teach you the spelling trick-and this is an example of a prearranged trick. Now, I hate to tell you this, but the easiest way to do it is to actually remember the setup. I've actually done this so many times that I can remember how to do it. I'm going to go through it slowly, and you can either write it down or watch the video again. Now with this, suits don't matter-you can use cards all the same suit-but the way I'm showing you the trick, I think it looks better if you show them with some kind of mixed suits. The number sequence goes like this 3, 8, 7, ace, queen, 6, 4, 2, jack, king, 10, 9 and 5. Now using this sequence, the trick I just showed you will work, but to make it a little extra sneaky, what I did is took the deck, I took the cards and then I dealt them one at a time onto the top of the deck like this; and I made sure I dealt them one at a time, because what that does that reverses the order of the cards. So now when I take the cards out of the box, I can give them a false cut if I want, and I say I need 13 cards, and I count them back 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13. So now what's happened is we're back in our sequence, and what the sequence does for you is, if you move the cards, 1, 2, 3, that's the 3 letters of ace, that'll give you an ace. And as long as you don't change the order of the cards, this will work for you: T W O that gives you a 2, T H R E E that gives us the 3. Now I won't go through them all, because that's all you have to do, F O U R as you move one card for each letter, and then the next card will be the right card, F I V E is going to give you the 5. Now when you're down to just jack, queen and king, you're just going to want to make sure that you're moving the cards correctly and they keep cycling around. Now, the king, you can go K I N G. I think that looks a little silly, so what I like to do is I just, after I've done the queen, I go "we have one card left." That's the king, and there it is. So go through that, that's a fun trick. If you remember the sequence, it'll serve you well in your beginnings in card magic. Have fun with it.
