The Eight-Nine Card Trick Magic Card Trick
Hi! I'm Malik the Magic Guy for expertvillage.com. I'm going to teach you another cool trick now. And for this we will need Mr. Hand. I'm going to take the cards out of the box, we're going to give them a couple of quick cuts here just to make sure. And I'm going to go through the cards and pull out - I need a black 8, black 9 we're going to use those. Now what I'd like Mr. Hand to do is pick up the cards one at a time, and you can insert them face down in the deck anywhere you want, in any spot you want, wonderful. Now we'll gather up the cards, give them a little shake, a little turn like this, and on the count of three, 1, 2, 3, we just toss the deck to the other hand, and we have magically produced the black 8 and the black 9 that Mr. Hand just put back into the deck. That's a very cool old trick. I'm going to teach you how to do that in just a minute.

Explanation of the Eight-Nine Magic Card Trick
Hi! I'm Malik the Magic Guy with expertvillage.com. Now I'm going to teach you the 89 trick, and it's another trick with a setup or prearrangement. And this is what you're going to want to do. You're going to take the two black 9's and the two black 8's out of the deck; we're going to pair them up like this: 9 of clubs-8 of spades, 8 of spades-9 of clubs. Now the reason for this is people just looking at these casually can't remember which suit goes with which value. For this, you're going to want to use cards that have a lot of spots and the same color; you can use different colors, but I think it's a little better if you use the same color. Now the way I set this up is I take one pair of 8 and 9, and I put them on the top and bottom of the deck just like this, then I'm going to take another pair of 8 and 9 and put them pretty close to each other, somewhere near the center of the deck; they don't need to be right next to each other, they can be pretty close to each other. So what I did in the performance was I pulled the cards out of the case, and I gave them a false under cut just like I showed you how to do earlier, and then I went through and I look for the 8 and 9 that were in the middle. So there's the 8 and there's the 9. And you probably want to be careful not to show them that. Then I push them over here, and I spread out the cards, and let Mr. Hand spread out the cards one at a time, and put them right into the deck anywhere that he wants. Then we just gather up the cards. Now all you want to do is grip the cards so that your fingers are here your thumb is here, and you're going to throw the cards and let these two cards slide off; now these aren't the same two cards, but they don't know that, they don't think you would be this sneaky and this underhanded. So you just count, 1, 2, 3, you let the rest of the deck slide out, keep those two cards like that, and we'll do it one more time. And that's the 8-9 trick.
